Public Policy & Economic Policy Professional
Mustafa bin Abbas Abdulrahman is a public policy and economic advocacy professional from the Kingdom of Bahrain, born in the historic city of Muharraq. He is married and has three children.
His career spans 27 years of public service, including key roles within the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), the Chamber of Commerce, and the MOIC. Throughout his tenure, he has served as a representative to delegations, bilateral trade bodies, and international business forums across the GCC and internationally.
Key areas of his ongoing work include:
- Policy Development: Contributing alongside his teams to advancements in economic policies that drive regional trade within the Gulf.
- Institutional Engagement: Representing public agencies and engaging with institutional bodies in high-level discourse to shape regional economic and intra-trade policy frameworks, implementation, Advisory Coalitions, institutional mechanisms and strategic initiatives. Includes Economic Diversification Forum, Arab Sustainable Development Group etc.
- Regional Collaboration: Organizing and participating in regional economic conferences as a panelist, while maintaining active engagement with ministers, executives, and counterpart organizations across the GCC member states and international partners.
Mr. Abdulrahman’s career within the public sector, focus on institutional networks and regional socio-economic development through which Gulf private capital is formed, protected, and deployed, has established the professional relationships that support his current mandate. He is also actively affiliated with several non-profit organizations.
